Each Friday Horse Nation teams up with Ovation Riding to spotlight an individual or organization that is doing good work in the horse world. This week we salute the Wild Horse & Burro Association.

The Wild Horse and Burro Association, Inc. is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to offering education and activities to support the adoption, training, and use of mustangs and burros. In addition, the organization maintains a national registry for all range-bred wild horses and burros and provides a system for points and year-end awards for horses and riders.

“Our goal is to help increase adoptions by highlighting gentled and trained horses to the American public and potential adopters, as well as to work with the various agencies that oversee our nation’s wild horses and burros through a variety of mediums including adoption events, shows, trail events, parades, and other equine events.”

The organization is dependent upon fundraising to support its activities and is currently offering a unique opportunity for one lucky winner to spend a week at the 2015 Mustang Family Reunion Ride, to be held June 21-17 in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Missouri. Proceeds from the raffle will go to support the Wild Horse & Burro Association.
