6 Reasons Your Horse Is Glad It’s Autumn

Actually, maybe we should call it “fall.” (See reason #5.)

Autumn is here at last–cooler days, crisp nights and lots of falling leaves to turn your horse into a fresh, spooky idiot. Let’s all take a moment to celebrate the season. Your horse already is, and he submitted this list of his favorite reasons.

1. Apples are in season. Seriously, can’t you just put me in the trailer, take me a to U-pick and turn me loose?

2. Carrots are in season too. If you won’t take me to the orchard then take me to the farmer’s market and buy me some of these bad boys.

3. Winter is coming. Time for me to embody this fine fellow and grow as much body hair as possible. I NEED IT.

4. Flies are dying. Enough said. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

5. There’s a little nip in the air! And I’m absolutely positive that there is something hiding in the woods over there. I heard it crunching. I saw an orange leaf moving. We’re going to die, I know it.

6. Those autumn leaves transform even the most mundane tasks into something exquisite. Let me just keep feeding my face while you take all those pictures. No, really, it’s no hardship at all.
