That’s it. I’m changing the name of this column to “Worst of Craigslist.”
Our lead ad, sent in by Kristi S., just makes me sad. Somebody buy this horse and let him have his head!
Im selling my nice horse. He is very active and easy to handle. Must see to better appreciate it. He is well trained, including rodeos.
Snarky Rider sent us this one for “vegetarian hay.” As opposed to what? And, to nitpick, technically hay is vegan.
If you love your horses, buy this hay. If you buy this hay, your horses will love you. Now featuring…Very rare and hard to find 100% vegetarian horse hay. Its a specially grown, highly maintained weed-free 3-way mix. Rich in oat, wheat and barley with great color and large boots. Here on the ranch we understand times are a changin and you’ve got to keep your health in mind…that’s why we only grow vegetarian hay. Eat smart, feed smart.
Prices; 3-WAY FORAGE is $14 per bale………. And for those of us with more money than time…delivery is available for $2 per bale, with a 50 bale min purchase & within a 50 mile radius.
Our typo of the day honors go to this next one from Lynn: “Lol, maybe it’s used to generate electricity?”
13 year old quarter horse mare, about 14 hands. “Daisy” was previously used as a trail horse and lesson horse, and now looking for a new home with a confident rider. Daisy has always been sound as long as I have known her. She is a sweet and kind horse but sometimes gets nervous or overwhelmed under saddle and reacts. A rider who is confident and quiet would make a great match for her. I’ve ridden her both Western and English, she is comfortable with both and would be great for an amateur rider looking to have fun in lower level activities or trails. She is currently bare-foot, but when she was a trail horse she had front shoes. I’m currently working with her to increase her confidence and exposure. Please call with any questions
Lynn sent us the next few. This horse in this picture just looks like he’s just had it with life. Extra points for specifying that the child and horse are sold separately.
$50 discount if paid for by July 15th!!
Red white and blue semi-matching set
Halter & lead line in red white and blue
Very comfortable Hilason saddle in excellent condition. 17 inch seat, 5.5 inch gullet
2 different blue cinches to choose from (28 and 32 inches I think)
Saddle pads in solid red and Navajo blue
Beaded blue one-ear headstall. I have a few different 5 and 5.5 bits to choose from if you want one to go with it. I have spare reins, but none that match.
I had the saddle pads on crooked in the picture. Maybe because I wanted to show both blankets, maybe because I was in a hurry and distracted…
My horse model is an Arabian mare, but very large for her breed.
Horse and child NOT included! 🙂 **BUT the mare and her new foal are actually for sale. Look under “More ads by this user” to see her listing. Thank you!
This saddle includes a “surprise.” I’m scared.
Old, heavily used. Marked JA Barnsby & sons
18.75″ seat is super-comfy for riders, and medium wide tree fit drum-shaped Arab horses very nicely. 8″ Gullet with shoulder relief–A comfortable horse is a happy-performing horse. $150, includes surprise for the new Owner having arrived on time and with the proper amount of cash.
And no edition of Best of Craigslist would be complete without a terrifying trailer ad. Lynn writes, “I almost want to buy this so I can remove it from the earth.”
Before you contact me look up where steamboat island in olympia is please.
Clean title on hand. Newer floor. Needs some work: Side boards, paint. Could look really cute! Tires have some sun cracks, about 45 percent left. You pick up, price is firm. 2″ ball, brake lights work. Opening is 2ft wide and it Is 6ft tall, it is small for one horse.
So, what’s the deal with Olympia Island? Here’s a aerial shot — good thing the trailer is only “two feet wide”!
To wrap things up on an adorable note we’ve got a canine entry in this week’s batch, a very cute one at that — look at those sweet puppy eyes! It’s from Parry K., who writes, “This one is a ‘black mouth cur puppy’ that is apparently the same breed as Old Yeller (so… a mutt? It’s a cute dog but why are we trying to pass it off as a specific breed?)”
female black mouth cur puppy very sweet same breed dog as old yeller , aprox 1 year old, just dont have time for her approved home only
