SpectraVET Classic Performance of the Week: Kim Severson & Winsome Andante

With a career that included three Rolex Kentucky wins, theirs ranks among the greatest eventing partnerships of all time.

For several years Kim and “Dan” were the ones to beat on the eventing scene, consistently laying down beautiful dressage tests, foot-perfect cross-country runs and strong show jumping rounds. They won the Rolex Kentucky CCI4* three times (2002, 2004 and 2005) and represented the USA several times in international competition, winning a team gold at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, and a individual silver and team bronze at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. They topped the USEA leaderboard and in 2004 Kim was ranked the #1 FEI rider in the world. They also won Blenheim in 2001, were on the 4th placed team at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, and placed 3rd at Badminton in 2007. Dan officially retired before his fans at a touching ceremony at Rolex in 2008.

Here they are during a pressure-cooker of an individual show jumping round at the 2004 Olympics, where they earned individual silver and team bronze.
