The requirements: The ideal contestant has a passion for horses, a way with words, and a willingness to contribute 1-2 posts for Horse Nation each week.

Who is eligible: Anyone! No prior experience is necessary.

What’s in it for me?: Money! Fame! Glory! This is Horse Nation’s first official Blogger Contest, but some winners of Eventing Nation Blogger Contests have gone on to become full- and part-time EN writers and editors.

How do I apply?: Your Round 1 entries will include a short bio (name, age, background, character-defining qualities, embarrassing tidbits) and a 300-600 word sample of your best work in the Horse Nation style. Entries will be judged on their ability to keep our panel of judges wildly entertained. Finalists will be narrowed down in subsequent rounds.

Entries are due two weeks from today, on Monday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. ET. Email your entry to [email protected] with the subject “HN Blogger Contest Entry.”
