Fiftyshadesofhay wins the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes and HN’s title of ‘Best Name Ever’

Joel Rosario rode the filly to victory in the Grade 2 $500,000 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico this afternoon.

Fiftyshadesofhay was bred by WinStar Farm LLC in Versailles, Kentucky (by Pulpit out of Quiet Kim by Real Quiet). It was the filly’s first win in three tries.

She is trained by Bob Baffert and was ridden by Joel Rosario, who’ll be aiming Orb toward a second Triple Crown jewel in the Preakness later today.
