Say Carrot! 7 hilarious outtakes from an equine photographer

Erin Wheeler is a talented Atlanta-area photographer whose gorgeous images capture the magic between horse and rider. And also, sometimes, the horse’s sense of humor!

Erin of Erin Michelle Photography recently collected entertaining outtakes from her equine photography sessions and compiled them into this blog post, which she has generously agreed to share with Horse Nation. Compare the outtakes with the finished products–whether the horses are blissfully unaware of what’s going on or hamming it up for the camera, it’s funny to the max.

About Erin:

I am a graphic designer by weekday, photographer by weekend. I have an amazing little family. My wonderful husband who is my highschool sweetheart, and our 5 “children” – two cats, two dogs, and my horse. I graduated from Berry College which will always hold a special place in my heart! Currently, my husband and I are making our way through our 20’s trying to build our dream jobs (check his out here) and saving up for our first house.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved horses. I started riding lessons when I was in 7th grade. I remember the day my mom told me she had scheduled my first riding lesson like it was yesterday. By the time I was in high school I was eventing. I finally got a horse, Fresno, when I was 19. Shortly after, I transferred to Berry and joined the equestrian team where I transitioned from eventing to huntseat and western horsemanship. Now, I am focusing on dressage with Fresno at a wonderful barn in Powder Springs!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, our dogs’ names are Lily (who often goes by Lil Bill, Billy, Bill, Boo Bill and Billiam) and Foozer who also answers to Foozie, Bruiser and Fooz Pooz. And, our cats’ names are Gus (Rus, Gussie, Russie, Gus-a-Rus, Muscle Russel, and Russel) and Toulouse (Loose, Lucy, Tou-lucifer, Weasel and Pencil Paws).
