Flex’n Fork™ ‘Oh Crap’ Moment of the Day

Somebody was having a serious “Oh Crap” moment last Friday when a racehorse tossed its jockey after his morning workout and made a break for it straight down Maryland’s Route 1.

The incident, which took place at around 9 a.m. at Laurel Park Racetrack, involved a four-year-old gelding named Bullet Catcher. The horse ran for 1.6 miles and clocked speeds of up to 30 miles per hour on the blacktop while being pursued by vehicles. 911 received several phone calls from commuters about the runaway horse.

Jockey Abel Castellano captured the breakaway on cell phone video.

The horse was eventually captured and appeared to be without injury apart from some minor abrasions on his hooves.
