Flex’n Fork ‘Oh Crap’ Moment of the Day

So the world didn’t come to a screeching halt on Friday–but reader Katie Knowles’ horse did, right in front of a jump! And lucky for us, someone snapped a pic.

Kate writes, “This is my OTTB, Artie, and I schooling on 12/21 (the not end of the world!). This was towards the end of the lesson and we’d already jumped the corner several times, and I leaned at it. Unfortunately for me (and although it’s easy to forget) he’s only 5 so, although a lot of the time he takes care of me, he was a little lost here and ducked to the side. This shot was right before I fell off and took out the chair that’s barely visible on the other side of the barrel. Luckily, I managed to hang on enough to miss the barrel itself. Although the world didn’t end on 12/21, I did fall off my horse for the first time.”

Thanks for sharing, Katie! The good news is, we’re all going to fall off our horses at some point–better to get that first tumble out of the way during a lesson than, say, at a competition, right? Right!

Also, a big thank-you as always to our mucking fabulous sponsor Equi-Tee Mfgfor making this series possible!
