Celeste writes, “I took my 4yo OTTB out XC schooling this past weekend since the weather was a beautiful 70 degrees here in VA. I’ve had him for exactly one year as of this past weekend and it was only his 3rd time ever out on XC. Needless to say he LOVES XC and thankfully he’s found his calling in life as my next event horse, but he was a little bit OVERLY enthusiastic to go jumping. That was the first time he’d ever seen the tiger trap and just to be on the safe side he jumped it about 2′ higher than necessary completely catching me off guard and jumped me right out of the tack. It’s horribly ugly but thankfully we didn’t part ways!”

She continues, “After I realized how much extra horse I had under me for the day I let him strut his stuff over all sorts of new jumps including the ditch and brush and coffin complex. He’s a PHENOMENAL horse and a true representative of the bravery and heart of OTTB’s. Here he is with a more prepared me on his back.”

Phew, Celeste, he wasn’t about to touch that tiger trap! You must’ve been wearing your Velcro britches that day! In any case, your horse looks very enthusiastic and athletic–we see bright things ahead in his eventing career!
