Friday Morning Feed from Ovation

Ovation made a big announcement this week: They are now the Official Helmet of the The American Competitive Trail Horse Association (ACTHA).

Competitive trail riding is an ideal sport for anyone who loves riding out with friends–especially if you have a little bit of a competitive streak! Courses typically cover between 15 and 40 miles per day, and each horse/rider combination is judged on a variety of factors including fitness, horsemanship, pace, and the ease with which they navigate trail obstacles.

Ovation has joined forces with the ACTHA to promote the use of riding helmets on the trail and to reward those riders who choose to wear a helmet at ACTHA Competitive Trail Challenges. Currently, wearing an approved helmet is mandatory for riders under the age of 18 but optional for adults. But with Ovation’s line of lightweight, low-profile helmets, there’s no reason not to wear one, really!

How stylish would this helmet, the Ovation Z-15, be on the trail? Features include a genuine leather visor and harness-grained synthetic leather sides, reflective piping, easy adjust dial for a snug fit, high-flow vents, easy to clean rubberized finish and removable Coolmax liner.

Every time a rider who will be wearing a helmet on the trail registers for an ACTHA Competitive Trail Challenge (CTC) in the Open, Pleasure or Junior Division, riders will check the box that states “This rider will be wearing an SEI/ASTM approved helmet during this CTC.” A rider will receive one point for every CTC completed wearing a helmet. Riders may wear ANY brand helmet during the CTC; it does NOT have to be an Ovation brand helmet. At the end of the 2012-2013 Season, the Top 5 riders with the highest number of points from each division will receive a brand new Ovation Extreme Helmet valued at $82.50. A total of 15 Helmets will be awarded at the end of the 2012-2013 Season.

Stay tuned to ACTHA Facebook for regular Ovation Helmet giveaways!

Thank you, Ovation, for lending your support to such a great organization!

Go Ovation, and Go Riding!
