The Secret Life of McKenna: Mustard & catch-up

Horse Nation’s junior blogger McKenna Oxenden took last week off but is back today to fill us in on what we missed.

From McKenna:

Hey Horse Nation! I am back from my hiatus. I apologize that I failed you all and for the first time since I’ve started, I skipped a blog. (Stay tuned to find out why.)

I figure since we haven’t had a “pony/McKenna life recap” in a while, I would go for that because I have a lot to report!

Where to start, where to start? Dorito!

The wonder pony is still continuing on, hard at work and hard working on the flat! He is still continuing to get better and better every day. He is still for sale, and looking for the perfect home. I am negotiable on his price, and as we all know, keeping two horses is not the most financially efficient thing, so as much as I LOVE Dorito, I’m excited and ready for  him to find a new, loving home.

Gigi and I are doing great. Each ride we are continuing to further our relationship. Last week I had a lovely lesson with my awesome new trainer Courtney Sendak of Defying Gravity Eventing. It was THE BEST flat ride I have had since I’ve returned from Virginia. It was a.w.e.s.o.m.e.!!!! Our jumping is continuing to get better and better also. Next weekend I’m heading into hunterland and participating in the hunter derby :O it’s going to be exciting!!

If you’re wondering why I took a bye on my blog last week, it’s because I’ve barely had time to breathe. As I said last time, I just took on a job, so between my job, school, riding two horses and barnwork, I have no time! (Schedule: school 7-2:15, barn 2:30-4:45, work 5-10, homework 10:15-until whenever…I told you my days are crazy!!)

Last weekend I was able to make it up to Wisconsin, where my mom is originally from and where some family still resides, and I decided I would make it my real vacation weekend and just have no worries at all….it was much needed!

Well, hasta la vista Horse Nation!!!
