A big Horse Nation welcome to our new sponsor, Fleeceworks!

We are SO excited to announce that Fleeceworks has joined the Horse Nation team as our newest corporate sponsor–especially since they’re one of our personal favorite companies.

Some of you may already be familiar with Fleeceworks. The brand has made a name for itself in recent years as the top manufacturer of equestrian products made with hand-selected Australian Merino Sheepskin. Their priority is the enhanced performance and comfort of our equine partners through a combination of technology and the best stuff nature has to offer, i.e. pure, soft, fluffy Australian Merino Sheepskin that has the fit and feel of a cloud on your horse’s back.

In addition to their famous saddle pads, Fleeceworks also offers a full line of accessories ranging from halter fleeces and breast collar covers to seat savers and pommel pads.

I was formally introduced to Fleeceworks in 2007 when I won an all-purpose saddle pad at the American Eventing Championships, of which Fleeceworks is a gracious sponsor. I loved it, my horses loved it, and that was all she wrote. It wasn’t long before I’d enthusiastically accumulated my own personal collection of Fleeceworks products that included another full pad, a girth cover, a partial pad and a partial pad with removable shims that was ideal for helping adjust the balance of my saddle to suit a variety of horses. All of which is to say, I’m a believer.

Another great thing about Fleeceworks is that, even though their product was fantastic from the get-go, the company keeps striving to improve upon its own model. Design advantages include patented FXK Technology that provides comprehensive relief for withers and spine, as well as a patent-pending Perfect Balance Technology with tailored inserts that assure exact saddle fit for increased performance and safety. In the coming week, we’ll be introducing you to an awesome new line of Fleeceworks full pads and half pads that will premier at Rolex Kentucky 3-Day with Bit of Britain and the Tack Trunk.

Yesterday I spoke at length with Fleeceworks’ president, Judy McSwain. Judy is herself a horsewoman and former competitor who is passionate about what her product is bringing to the table of equestrian sport. She told me about her recent experience of watching a horse and rider combination transform from being hollow-backed and less-than-happy to being round and forward simply by adding a Fleeceworks pad with a front shim to tweak the balance of the saddle. “That’s what it’s all about,” Judy told me.

One more reason to love Fleeceworks: The company is all about giving back to horse community by supporting programs, competitions and riders representing a variety of disciplines. Horse Nation is grateful to be counted amongst that list.

Go Fleeceworks, and Go Riding.
