Show Jumping: Girls rule, boys drool in WEF Battle of the Sexes

The ladies showed the men who wears the britches in show jumping at Saturday night’s $55,000 Nespresso Battle of the Sexes at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival. The ladies secured their fourth consecutive win in the three-phase competition by besting the men’s 17 points with a winning score of 29 points.

The ladies team was captained by Katie Prudent and included riders Tatiana Dzavik, Margie Engle, Brianne Goutal, Maggie Jayne, Reed Kessler, Candice King, Laura Kraut, Marilyn Little Meredith, Catherine Pasmore, and Jessica Springsteen.

Henri Prudent led the men’s team, which included riders Daniel Bluman, Steven Bluman, Charlie Jayne, Ben Meredith, Todd Minikus, Richie Moloney, Michael Murphy, Andres Rodriguez, Nick Skelton, and Shane Sweetnam.

The three-phase competition included a speed round; a match race, with men and women competing side by side over an identical course; and a six-bar class.
