Performance of the Week: Henrik Von Eckermann

Most of us would be happy to win any leg of the Longines FEI World Cup in show jumping. Henrik Von Eckermann and Mary Lou 194 are just a little extra, winning the same leg two years in a row.

While many of our most beloved stars in show jumping seem to reign eternal, the reality is that there can be quite a bit of turnover year to year, as horse and rider partnerships find their footing or riders move new horses up the levels. The pairs that do stay perpetual are the ones who truly capture our hearts as show jumping fans, showing off that winning style year after year.

And in some cases, that means winning the exact same event itself, year after year. That’s what Henrik Von Eckermann and Mary Lou 194 did in front of the home Swedish crowd at the Gothenburg Horse Show, capturing the 13th and final leg of the Longines FEI World Cup:

What a challenging track — this course for the jump-off was twistier than a roller coaster! Congratulations to this show jumping power couple.

Go riding!
