SmartPak Monday Morning Feed: Ask the Vet, February Bonus Edition

SmartPak’s “Ask the Vet” video series consists of questions voted upon by fans — in this special bonus edition, SmartPaker Sarah and Dr. Lydia Gray pick their favorites from the questions that didn’t make the cut.

What happens to the “Ask the Vet” selected questions that don’t get voted into the final cut of each SmartPak video? After all — a list of questions is compiled from those asked by fans via social media or email, and then those questions are opened up for voting to determine which ones will be answered by SmartPaker Sarah and Dr. Lydia Gray. It’s an equestrian democratic process.

That said, a few really good questions, of course, don’t make that final cut to be answered in video — but they’re about great topics on which Sarah and Dr. Gray are knowledgeable and passionate. To touch on these great topics, Sarah and Dr. Gray each selected their favorite question from February’s voting that didn’t get chosen for the regular February video, and answered them here.

The bonus questions:

1. If a horse is broken in the 3rd vertebrae, is the neck actually broken?

2. I have a horse who was recently diagnosed with navicular disorder. Can you explain this in simple terms? He’s being managed by the farrier and is currently sound and rideable. Would any of your supplements serve my horse well?

And as an ADDITIONAL bonus, these two curious fans whose questions were just answered will receive the same SmartPak gift card that all fans receive when their questions are selected for Ask the Vet!

Want to submit a question? Click through to open this video on YouTube and ask your question in the comments, or post on SmartPak’s social media through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Don’t forget that important #AskTheVet hashtag!

Go SmartPak! And go riding.
