HN Classifieds: Something doesn’t add up

It’s solid 3rd Level, schooled through PSG. It jumps. It’s quiet. It has good ground manners. It’s a registered Oldenburg. So why is it $2,000, and why is it wearing a western saddle?

Thanks to Lauren Romanelli and Kim Burgess Carpenter for the Facebook share! Now, someone go buy this horse.

VERY NICE OLDENBURG GELDING, DRESSAGE & JUMPING – $2000 (Flemingsburg, KY)

Date: 2012-08-27, 10:11AM EDT

This is a 15 yr old OLDENBURG GELDING. He carries the OLDENBURG brand on his left hip. He is 16.1 hands tall. He is a solid 3rd level dressage horse and has worked to Prix St George. He is well trained and honest. He has multiple championship wins including Region 9 USDF Champion at 3rd level. He is quiet to clip. He ties anywhere with no fuss. He loads, bathes, and hauls nicely. He is a fantastic lesson horse that anyone can ride. He has been ridden in and out of the arena. This gelding is a great horse to learn on or one to take to the shows. He has lots of experience under his belt and is ready to go! He jumps nicely and is honest over the fences. Call 304-238-4155

Gosh, I was always under the impression you were supposed to lead with your strengths… I wonder if they know that walking in a circle does not a pirouette make ;)

This is a group from Ky. They sell mostly mules, and some very poor horses for a whole lot of money. One of my students went to there location and she said it looked like a rescue lot ready for the slaughter house. All of their pictures are in the same spot, same position, with the same wagon wheel in the background. Only in Ky . This group has been pushing horses online for about 2 years now, and lots of them.I am so sorry for the animals.

I am sure this is a scam. If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is. NEVER buy a horse sight unseen from a stranger. Many people are losing money to scammers!
