97 Year Old Man Wins Race

Can you imagine being 97 years old, strapping yourself into a tiny sulky and flying top-speed behind a trotting horse? Yeah, me neither.

A certain Leo Burns did just that this week, and made himself the new world record holder for “Oldest Winning Driver” in the sport of Harness Racing according to the U.S. Trotting Association. He led from wire to wire with his 8-year-old trotting filly, Winsome Wyoming, in the 5th race of the Wayne County Fair of Fairfield, Illinois. Leo now holds more than 450 career wins to his name. Leo plans to continue to compete his mare as long as she stays sound, and he can hop in the sulky.

Imagine that!
