Anti-slaughter billboards feature adorable horses nuzzling one another

The donation-funded campaign aims to raise awareness of the slaughter issue.

Twenty-five anti-slaughter billboards have been placed around the nation thanks a grassroots campaign initiated by Pennsylvania-based non-profit Angel Acres Horse Haven Ranch.

Joe Deibel, founder and director of Angel Acres, explains, “Many people are unaware that (over 100,000) horses are sent to slaughter each year. Our billboards are changing that, one person, one city, one state at a time.”

A big thanks to HN Contributor Amanda Chambers calling our attention to this story, originally published on Off-TrackThoroughbreds.com today.

In other anti-slaughter news, the results of a new independently-conducted poll reveal that 80-percent of Americans are opposed to horse slaughter for human consumption. [Horse Talk]
