Best of Craigslist: Are You Kidding Me Edition

There’s nothing like a “Best of Craigslist” collection to make you double-take, squint at the screen and generally ask yourself “are you kidding me right now?”

Seriously, count how many times you said “what?!?!?” out loud while browsing our latest collection of Craigslist and Facebook ads. We’d love to say “this one’s a real doozy” … but we pretty much say that every time. Craigslist, you never cease to amaze us.

We’ll kick things off with this premium hay for feeding your latest Craigslist acquisition. Submitted by Stacy: “Definitely a bargain.”

Yeah, I think I’ll pass. Let’s move on to some actual horses — like this gentleman, submitted by Rachel: “He looks like a good horse but the punctuation is awful!” Our official challenge to you: see if you can read this one out loud without taking a breath. You know, like the way it’s written.

Yikes, that last one was a workout. Fortunately this trailer ad gets right to the point, submitted by RedBlueMel:

That trailer would be perfect for delivering the very specific list of goats required to call this charming pony your own. She’s a broodmare prospect … who’s already been exposed to a stallion. Good luck! Submitted by Kaitlyn:

Speaking of honest sellers, this gal is thankfully up-front with the fact that she will be a self-described “crazy mom who will stalk everything.” Buyer, beware, for real. Submitted by Kaitlyn:

Booge is a six yr qt horse. The cutest darn thing on four legs. He had a rough abusive past but has come a very long ways. I hate to sell him but I just don’t have time for all my horses, specially when I have to board them at two separate barns. I plan on doing more wor with him when the weather warms up, that will just make his price go up. He’s the easiest horse to keep, practically cares for himself. Just needs some brushing and obviously help with water and hay haha. I trail ride him everywhere and he’s a little beast. Even rode him to the beach off rt 5. He was good and of course was scared of the waves at first. Ten mins later he was running through the water and acted like he grew up on the beach. I will be very picky about his new home. For he has been my child for the past three years and I’ve seen him grow into the young handsome man that he his now. So be prepared to a crazy mom who will stalk and check everything before he goes anywhere. Feel free to txt or email for more information and pics. Thanks.

We’ll close out this week’s collection with a little Craigslist mystery: decide what’s going on here in this ad! A really poor marketing strategy? Passive-aggressive disgruntled boarder seeking revenge? You decide! Submitted by Joye:

Do you want your horse with no food or very little food? Frozen water in winter? Kept rail thin? No shelter? Then come see my beautiful barn that I keep heated for me and animals locked out 24/7 in outdoor areana with no shelter from the cold. Thanks. Located in Manhattan, IL

Readers, if you run across an “interesting” ad in your Internet wanderings, send it our way! Email the link to [email protected]. Who knows – maybe you’ll help connect a horse with a safe, loving home. Go Riding.
