The Secret Life of McKenna & Dorito: Special Moms Day edition

From McKenna:

I always try to think of ways to thank my mom but there’s not much I can do. Of course I say thanks, try my best to help around the house, and at least attempt to do as she says, but in my eyes it’s never enough.

How can I show the amount of gratitude that needs to be to someone who does so much of you? You can’t. You just have to hope they understand and that your small actions make up. I try and do as much as I can– when Dorito received the honor of being USEA’s “horse” of the month, I had an excerpt in my interview where I expressed my thanks to my mom. I choked up and you could see the gratitude in her eyes, but yet again, in mine, it’s not enough. So here I write, trying to express my thanks.

Thank you mom for all that you do. Thanks for being my rock, my best friend, my biggest supporter. You’re the person that turns my frown upside down, and you’re the only person I want to talk to right when I’ve been eliminated. Thank you for supporting me in all that I do, for paying for it to being my psychologist. There is never a dull moment with you; you always have me laughing and pushing me out of my comfort zones. Together, we are scary yet somehow we always solve the world’s problems. You got me my first and current horse, you introduced me to volleyball, but more importantly you made me the person I am today. A caring, loving, funny, motivated, inspired and outgoing person. And I owe so much of this to you.

Truth is, mom, Karen O’Connor may be my biggest role model, but you follow pretty close behind. I just hope one day you realize how special of a person you are, how awesome you are, and how you deserve everything in the whole world.

People say that they have the best mom in the world but truth is, they are wrong. I have the best mom in the world.
