SpectraVET Performance of the Week: Rosie Napravnik & Untapable

It was girl power x 2 in the Kentucky Derby’s sister race, the Kentucky Oaks, with Rosie racking up her second Oaks win in three years.

Rosie and the 3-year-old mare Untapable proved unstoppable, surging past My Miss Sophia on the homestretch to win by 4-and-a-half lengths. The Tapit filly came into the $1 million race undefeated in 2014 and lived up to her hype, as her final time was a mere .04 seconds off the Oaks record set by Bird Town in 2003.

“She was really great today,” Rosie told the AP Press after the race. “She runs her best when she can get in a great stride. She relaxes so nice. She’s growing up and is maturing. She is magnificent.”
