Monday Morning Feed from SmartPak

The USEF Network’s livestream video coverage, presented by SmartPak, has truly revolutionized the way equestrian enthusiasts are able to experience horse sport.

This past weekend, for instance, anyone with internet access could watch events like the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, the Kentucky Reining Cup, and the Del Mar National Dressage Show — in near real-time. And for free.

As a journalist at Rolex this year, one of my responsibilities was to help serve as a liaison between the live experience and fans who were watching from their home computers. Eventing Nation’s Rolex Live Blog served as a forum for interaction between those watching live and those watching via livestream. Combined with the USEF Network’s excellent running commentary from Karen O’Connor, John Kyle and special guests, even if you weren’t sitting in the stands but in fact thousands of miles away on your living room couch, you felt like you were watching the event surrounded by friends.

With so many opportunities emerging to stay engaged, it’s a neat time for equestrian sports — and the USEF Network is leading the way. Many, many thanks to the USEF Network and its presenting sponsor, SmartPak, for making horse sports accessible to so many fans around the world.
