Racetrackers’ Dubai Paradise

Who needs an alarm when you’ve got the sound of galloping hoofbeats right outside your window? Anita Motion, wife of Kentucky Derby-winning trainer Graham Motion, tweeted this view from their Dubai hotel window today.

From the looks of it, the Motions are staying in the world’s first 285-room, 5-star trackside hotel at the Meydan Racecourse, where Lucky Chappy, the 3-year-old gelding trained by Graham and owned by Team Valor, will start Saturday’s $2 million UAE Derby.

Graham told the Daily Racing Form today that he “couldn’t be happier” with the way Lucky Chappy’s prepping. No word on whether the Motions had to leave their balcony to watch.
