SpectraVET Classic Performance of the Week

Each week we spotlight a history-making moment by one of the greatest equine legends of all time–like Totilas’ spectacular freestyle at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.

Totilas, a midnight black Dutch Warmblood stallion, is considered by many to be the most spectacular dressage horse of all time. He and his Dutch rider, Edward Gal, were triple gold medalists at the 2010 FEI WEG in Lexington, Kentucky, becoming the first horse-rider partnership ever to sweep the three available dressage gold medals at a single FEI World Games.

It would be one of their final performances together, as the horse was sold in October of that year to sport horse breeder Paul Schockemöhle. His new rider, Matthias Rath of Germany, has yet to reach the same level of success with Totilas as the horse achieved with Gal.
