News: ‘Judge halts horse roundup amid abuse allegations’

That’s the headline from an AP story published today about a restraining order placed on the BLM following accusations of abuse.

The complaints are brought by horse protection advocate agency Wild Horse Education, which “is accusing the BLM and its contractors of treating dozens of horses inhumanely since the Owyhee roundup began in November near the Idaho line about 70 miles northwest of Elko,” according to the story.

Wild Horse Education gathered and presented video footage that appears to depict an inhumane roundup, including a the use of electric prods in violation of agency policy.
