Yesterday at Gulfstream, 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom roared back into the spotlight by winning his first race since he suffered a hairline fracture during the Belmont last year. In this interview, Animal Kingdom’s trainer Graham Motion reveals himself as a true horseman who genuinely cares about the horses under his charge. He tells the story of the horse that put him on the map, Better Talk Now, and explains some of the strategies that kept that horse racing-sound until he retired to Motion’s farm at age 10.
