Elisa Wallace and her Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover OTTB Sharp Decision tackled the Training course at Chattahoochee Hills and brought us along for the ride!

All across the country, hundreds of trainers and their off-track Thoroughbreds are preparing for the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover, the banner event of the organization that showcases the ex-racehorse’s ability to transition into a second career as a sporthorse. We spot one combination who looks like they’ll be quite prepared!

Elisa Wallace and Sharp Decision (JC: Sharp Johnny) tackled the Training course at Chattahoochee Hills and we get to ride along via helmet cam: listen as Wallace pep-talks her mount through the course (and at times works to bottle up all that athleticism and joie de vivre).

Considering my own Makeover mount can barely canter in a straight line, consider me impressed. We’ll be rooting for Wallace and “Sharpie” in October!
