Fantasy Farm Thursday: $4.9 Million Colorado Super Ranch

This week’s Fantasy Farm is brought you by the letters O, M, and G.

There are fantasies, and then there are FANTASIES. This one is the latter category, and I’m positively giddy to share it with all my fellow horse poor fantasizers. We hit the big-time this week.

Welcome to Rancho Milagro in Hesperus, Colorado – the halfway point on State Rd #160 between the unbearably charming town of Durango and Mesa Verde National Park. If you don’t mind being a tad remote, then you’re really hitting the jackpot on this pretty lady:

The property includes 273 spectacular acres of undulating desert, agriculture, sage brush and juniper forest with stunning mountain ranges in every direction. There is pasture turnout with loafing sheds, fenced fields to grow your own proprietary hay blend, trails to head out on, and arenas to stay in on.

And we don’t mean just any arena: a 135′ x 230′ headed indoor arena with expansive amenities inside including luxury stalls, massive tack rooms, feed rooms, living quarters and more. Functional, beautiful, almost too perfect to look at without being blinded by the awesomeness of it all.

The house? The house is just ridiculously magnificent. The 3800+ square foot adobe house is traditionally four-corners appropriate but also utterly one-of-kind. There are always going to be those people who don’t go for the deep southwestern pink adobe, but I am not one of those people, and you shouldn’t be either. It’s marvelous. There, I said it.

The current listing price of $4.97 million is nothing to sniff at, but according to the listing agent, that’s a value worth 1/4 of what it would cost to replace it. So basically, you need this as an investment or what not. Even if you don’t want to live there yourself. In fact, I’d be happy to move into one of those swanky barn apartments on site and take care of all the little bits and pieces for you. Horse Nation is here for you, guys.

You can see more photos of this spectacular property at the original listing, as well as contact information for the listing agent, should you be in the market for true iconic southwest happiness fitting for cowboy royalty.

Go Riding.
